Thank you !
Actually it's a surface shader I made for a mud-like appearance but when animated it looks quite alive :)

It's so organic-looking!    =^_^=    To me it seems more squishy than bonelike.
I like how it seems to be floating above clouds.  =D

Thank you - yep - it's more like living mud than bones. :)

Very interesting, hypnotic even. Is the texture linked to 3D space itself, meaning it changes because the object occupies different places over time?

:iconschmiegel:

Yes, the texture is a property defined by the space coordinates while the object moves through space.

awesome! but how can you export such a complex animation in a GIF? is it still in 256 color mode?
Reply
:iconschmiegel:
Schmiegel Featured By Owner Jul 19, 2014
Yep - think it was 120 frames á 256 colors stitched to an animated gif using ImageMagick

This is really hypnotic. It reminds me of a mental exercise that I do when I want to empty my mind, where I try to picture a cube with all it's corners pointing inwards. I think this could have been augmented if the background looked more organic like the inside of a gut to reflect the living object.

Yep - this kind of background would be cool - next time :)

So the topology stay same after splitting and reconnection, right?

Yes - it's all the same geometry except that one single parameter changes - this parameter inverted the geometry along one axis through the origin (which is infinity as this is an inversion of 3D space.)

Ah - didn't have that in mind but ... if I remember correctly this should be of the size of a mountain and I should have taken red and orange coloring ...

Thank you!

Yes! Before that though I will need to master particle clouds including object interaction. A good challenge for Blender - but a tough challenge for me! ;)
