Thanks for the parameters. I enjoyed seeing this come to life my screen. It was also an interesting shape to experiment with MB3D voxel mesh capture, which I've started working with.

Yea - doing 3D prints is amazing - although with current technologies the detail resolution is too low to make me happy :)

Yes. I don't think the voxel based workflow that is popular with MB3D goes far enough in terms of mesh reconstruction. I'm sure there are better techniques available (that will develop in time). Check out Vladimir Bulatov's "Limit Set" on Flickr. [link] (It looks like a printed object to me . . . if so it is amazing!)

Bulatov has some amazing art - I love his polyhedron based metal sculptures!

I guess your link is really a 3D printed object. This seems to be related to Kleinian group stuff as also Jos Leys does. Too bad I do not understand any of the math behind this art :(
Nevertheless, my favourite wording is " ... the standard techniques of isosurface extraction ..." - this somehow matches the design :)
